First and foremost, we had a very successful books drive. We received tremendous support in terms of books donations which was successfully shipped to Kenya. As a result quite a number of our children back home enjoy reading, which I believe will help them improve on their vocabulary in English. We also had a successful funds drive which helped us ship the books. We at IHOPEE thank you all for your involvement to make this happen.
We also succeeded in assisting kakola widows by helping them raise funds to assist them in their basket and mats making. Right now, we have received reports on the success of the projects. The table banking, which is part of their project, is doing great. This is one of our goals, and as a result, we are proud to have made a huge impact on the lives of these ladies.
Last month we had a very successful first medical mission. The team on the ground, led by our president, Rose Oginga, did a great job in updating us on the progress. From the pictures and the videos taken, you will all agree with us that it was greatly successful. In total, over 2,000 patients were taken care of. We are indeed very proud of the success. The Medical mission covered Kayole in Nairobi, Agoro/Maraba in Nyakach Kisumu county and Chianda/Uyoma in Rarieda, Siaya county
It is our hope that we will continue in the same spirit, or better, to make IHOPEE great. Having said that, we intend to give ourselves a break as we get ready for the holidays which just began yesterday. We hope to begin the new year more energized, to build our organization to greater heights. Happy holidays in advance to all team IHOPEE.
